Vero Beach Magazine. The cover story features her
home on John's Island in Vero Beach, Florida. In November, 2008
Sandra was invited to participate in ''Rooms With A View'', an
annual fund-raising design event established by Albert Hadley, the
noted designer in Southport, CT. This prestigious event features
well known designers in the Connecticut and New York area. In
October 2009 her work was published in Connecticut Cottages
and Gardens Magazine. Over the years, Sandra has been
invited to participate in several show houses in the New York and
Connecticut areas.
Sandra recently completed an
extensive renovation and decoration of a five story town house on New York
City's Upper East Side, and the decoration of a coastal home on Long Island
Sound, the decoration of a Georgian style brick home in
Westchester, and a traditional colonial in Darien. Current projects include the decoration and renovation of a French chateau style home in Purchase,
NY, a new colonial in New Canaan, a stone manor house in Larchmont, and two vacation homes in John's Island, Vero Beach, FL. Sandra's expertise
covers a range of decorating styles, and her work is known for a fresh classic
look. Her goal is to help her clients achieve their personal dreams of a
beautiful home and create an inspiring back-drop for their everyday lives.
Sandra received the ASID 2008 Award
for Excellence in Retail Design for SM Home, her beautiful retail shop in
Greenwich. SM HOME was featured in the December, 2008 issue of New York
Spaces Magazine. In the January/February 2009 issue of
Modern Estate Magazine, SM HOME was photographed for an 8 page
article entitled ''Northern Lights'', celebrating the Swedish Gustavian style.
After graduating from Connecticut
College, cum laude, with a BA in Art History Sandra worked on the editorial
staffs of House & Garden and Mademoiselle,
where as Associate Fabric Editor she created the column Chez Mlle, devoted to
stylish decorating for young women-on-the-go. After marriage and starting a
family, her interest in furniture and the decorative arts resulted in Morgan and
Company, Ltd., a high-end retail decorating resource. During this ten year
venture in Greenwich she developed a strong interior design clientele. She also
personally arranged several exhibits of painting, sculpture and antique American
quilts in her home at that time, historically the largest converted barn in
Greenwich. It was here that she collaborated with the David Findlay Gallery of
New York City to install an extensive show of contemporary French paintings. A
colorist by nature, Sandy infuses her projects with an artist's flair.
In 1988 Sandra established Sandra
Morgan Interiors, Inc. Over the past years she has expanded her business to
include The Penthouse Art Gallery, and in 2007, SM HOME, her ASID award winning
retail showroom specializing in Swedish antiques, quality reproductions,
fabulous accessories, unique lighting and fine art. Her design studio, art
gallery, and retail showroom are all located at 70 Arch Street, Greenwich, CT..
